Exclusive Eden Gallery artist Angelo Accardi has unveiled an exciting new set of installations of his “F*CK” sculptures. Named “Poetry,” this project publicly exhibits Accardi’s grand, life-sized sculptures in the Italian cities of Milano, Venezia, and Palermo.
Accardi’s most common medium is painting, which is why this sculpture-based project is so exciting. That combined with the fact that it is a public exhibition, taking place entirely outdoors on view for pedestrians, distinguishes it from his previous collections, most of which have consisted of paintings displayed in indoor art galleries. “Poetry” allows for a wider range of viewers from all walks of life to absorb the messages of his art, which they can do simply by walking through the city streets.
Angelo Accardi is a contemporary artist whose artworks primarily depict contrasting cultural symbols, icons, world leaders, and even cartoons all in the same painting. His paintings are an open-ended commentary on the way modern-day society functions, and how its moving parts interact with eras and events of the past. His sculptures also convey a similar commentary: in “Absentminded,” a converse shoe, which is a symbol of modern-day consumerism, is depicted as towering over a metal bust of a Renaissance subject. This is a prime example of his juxtaposition of the symbols of the present and past interacting with each other, an artistic vision that is bound to spark conversation and provoke thought.
Accardi’s “Poetry” installation project will be on view in Milano, Venezia and Palermo until the end of May 2022.
