On November 13th, the world celebrates World Kindness Day, promoting the spread of love to those around us and reminding everyone of the unmatched power of kindness.
In the name of kindness and empathy, muralist Eduardo Kobra spreads the message of kindness through his extraordinary artworks that are indeed a labor of love. Through a continuously evolving kaleidoscope, bright colors, and bold lines, Kobra succeeds in bringing notable figures from the past to life within his larger-than-life murals. The core message of Kobra’s street art includes important mediums such as animal rights, environment protection, nature, peace, tolerance, and racism, promoting a need for change within each truly remarkable and realistic mural.
Kobra’s artwork is an extension of his identity and everything he believes in. His values and principles are reflected in each of his murals. His artwork titled ‘Ghandi’ is a simple yet beautiful image of activist Mahatma Ghandi holding a sign saying ‘No Violence’. Kobra’s pieces evoke the importance of empathy in a chaos-filled world, in his artwork ‘Coexist’ we see individuals of four major religions that in the real world, can never seem to get along. However in the artwork, divided by barriers, they are able to peacefully coexist. Noble and exemplary figure Mother Theresa, is the subject of another piece by Kobra, pictured in pensive thought over the fragility of humankind.
Global humanitarians emphasize the value and importance of committing to acts of kindness in everyday life. Unity and harmony are achieved through a common goal to help one another and those in need. Eduardo Kobra dedicates his works of art and his mission as an artist to the imperative message that kinship in our existence is crucial to the survival of humanity.
The artist was recently honored for his 30 years of art, with an exhibition of his greatest works along with a grand mural painted across the exterior of the United Nations headquarters in New York City. His tireless dedication to altruistic motives rewards him by being publicly deemed as a 21st century artistic activist.
This World Kindness Day, let your compassion shine brightly and show yourself and those around you some kindness. Explore more artwork by Eduardo Kobra on the Eden Gallery website, or visit your nearest Eden Gallery location today.
