Calman Shemi is a contemporary artist, originally from Mendoza, Argentina. Beginning his career as a sculptor, he now paints exclusively. He is a graduate of The School of Sculpture and Ceramics in Mendoza, Argentina. Today, he uses his formal education and uniquely developed painting techniques to create original artworks distinctive from anything people have seen before. Calman Shemi’s colorful artwork is created using one or a combination of three different techniques of painting: soft, lacquer, and window. He is most famous for his collection of musically inspired “Notes” paintings, which are comprised of a series of multicolored brushstrokes, either on metal or canvas.
