Angelo Accardi is an Italian artist whose style blends classical art influences with contemporary inspirations. Born in a small town in the south of Italy, he grew up inspired by traditional Italian art as well as modern interpretations of classical subjects. Always knowing he wanted to be an artist, he went to study fine arts at the Art Academy of Naples. Shortly after his formal education Accardi went on to set up his personal studio in the early ’90s. His surreal artwork often features tributes to art masters such as Leonardo Davinci, Klimt, and Magritte, as well as popular cartoon characters such as minions and The Simpsons. His diverse collections are centered around themes such as misplaced characters, pop culture, and Japanese inspirations. The majority of his artwork features animals, specifically ostriches, that are meant to act as a placeholder for the viewer. Angelo Accardi is an Eden Gallery exclusive artist.
