Who is Rakel Wajnberg ?

Rakel Wajnberg was born and raised in Paris and studied at the prestigious Esmod school of Fashion. Her career transitioned from fashion and design into sculpture and painting, where Wajnberg takes cues from Pop and Street artists such as Andy Warhol and Jean Michel Basquiat in striking Contemporary works that attempt to stir emotion in her audience, evoking visual flashbacks and nostalgia. Recognized by her peers today for works that have become iconic in the coveted microcosm of Contemporary Art, the French artist is constantly reinventing herself, keeping her work fresh and relevant. Wajnberg’s art features iconic figures of fashion and cinema such as Paul Newman, Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Kate Moss, Michael Jackson, Frida Kahlo, and Al Pacino. She immortalizes her subjects with great joy, humor, and imagination in enchanting sculptures (such as her Malab’Art series) and powerful, rebellious paintings. Her Malabar sculptures are a sensory experience that play on touch, smell, and sight, where even the resin Wajnberg uses is imbued with the smell of the famous French chewing gum. The result is a sculpture which plunges the viewer into childhood, and the emotional nostalgia of childhood sweets. Available in several sizes, from Baby Gum to Bubble Gum XXL, the bite of this sculpture is the imprint of Rakel’s teeth, a unique and unique artistic signature, one of the many distinctive and playful aspects of her art. Her Pop paintings are a unique blend of a unique approach that predicts unprecedented success for this cheeky and inventive French artist. Rakel Wajnberg works and lives in Boulogne Billancourt, close to Paris. Her work can be found in Paris Place des Vosges (Galerie D’art Ariel Jakob), Lyon (Galerie D’art Celia Guedj), Saint-Tropez (Art Life), Tel Aviv (Galerie 21), and Eden Fine Art’s international galleries.
